Back in college at Tyler Junior College I helped start a Art Club. Was a lot of silly fun that turned into a serious fun thing. Its still around! I get the emails about what is going on and found out about the Sketchbook Project and jumped aboard!

I’ve got a cute black sketch book to fill up before Jan.15, and I’m loving the excuse to draw away.

I have also made 3 other paintings in this series. I was inspired by a rainy day landscape when you look out your car window. I love how the colors will meld together and become more ideas of the land.

So I had a friend who called this week, wondering if I could do a painting for her by tomorrow for a baby shower. YES!!! (I love a good challenge!) I just finished this painting for a friend, she always keeps me painting! (Thanks Tracy)Its a wedding gift for a good friend of hers. I did one like this years ago and wanted to do more like it but have never had a chance. A few years ago I worked at a camp and on weekends i was in charge of an area of parking. I had a perfect view of a creek and trees were growing down the creek. The sun would light up the land behind the trees and just glow.

This was my first Mothers Day that my son knew what was going on, but it didn’t go as id imagined. I wanted to sleep in, but Asher wanted to sleep with us and wiggle. After he finally went to watch cartoons I thought I could sleep. Nope. My sweet husband had gotten up and came to me urgently, and with a lot of remorse about wakening me up, asking me to come look at something. I was now awake. In the Bathroom was a little snake! I happen to be the only one who can properly tell if a snake is bad or harmless (thanks to my brothers obsession) but it was too dark to truly tell. so we put it in a plastic bag and outside. No I didn’t kill it outright because we found a few ground snakes in our garden and want to keep them to kill the bugs. It was just a little gray garden ground snake. whew!!

the rest of the day was mostly normal except I didn’t cook or clean and we just relaxed (ahhhhh!)

I did paint! a lot of backgrounds but it was nice to paint without worrying about anything else.

I also finished these 2 paintings of my cat :D

I am currently unable to sew (sob!) ...my sewing machine is not working and needs to go to the doctor. So I've been doing many other things, mainly on the computer.

All this isnt what I'm blogging about today, no .

So I'm eatting lunch and watching cartoons while checking up on all the things to see on the computer. I look over and my son is peeking out of my huge shopping bag!!!

WAY TOO FUN!!!!

I discovered a wonderful little shop called Sparkle on 155 going out twoards Lake Palistine. Its a baby butiqu (verrrrry colorful and fun!) and she is intersted in some of my handmade items and wanted me to create some children's capes (such a GREAT idea!)

so hear they are!

This is the first one completed and i hope to finish them and maby have some for sale on Etsy soon.

This is blue gray and covered in sparkles!! with a velvet ribbon around the neck with velcro for closer and safty. It works for little to big kidos.

Tonight I have an art show I’m in! I am so excited !(yet slightly stressing) The art is all at the place and hung. One of my friends from when I worked at star bucks (ages ago) has been putting together these shows. I helped her set up the paintings this morning. I had my son with me and he keep pretending to have a pet dog. It is always fun to be part of the set up of a show.

Its an all girl show and turns out 3 of us used to be (or currently is) the Art Club presidents at Tyler Junior College! Small world !(or town) I helped start the club and ended up becoming the first president of the club (o so much fun!!) Good times, good school.

So all of my art are trees and seasonal. I love nature and especially trees! The beauty and memories that they bring to me inspire me daily. My husband says I’m a hippy (yet I am too young to be so) and it always makes us laghf since he use to be in the military and is still such a gun nut! Well opposites attract right!

So in the show tonight I have 10 paintings. Beautiful, close to my heart, and well made paintings. I love sharing them with others and am excited that blogs exists so I can share them with you on hear.

My son loves to shake his grove thing!! (in your face preferably) Although I always scold him, I also always get a good giggle inside and treasure his sweet little nuttiness. Today was one of those days with my family that was rely memorable. We truly just relaxed and played and it was fun.

A few favorite things, my 'garden' of potted plants (a copple I have keep alive a year now!) seadlings almost ready to plant, my son picking flowers in the clover, my family being so silly we need a camera, my paper punches (fun stuff)

things like these make my days fun.

A perfect! i added blossoms and am very content with my spring inside! I’m in an all women show the 20th (did i mention that?? o well) and am making my favorite, trees, for my part. I love painting trees, so peaceful and contemplative to do and yet fun and free from preconceived notions. and they are pretty! (my fave part)

Its so beautiful today, and the tulip trees are in bloom. I did a couple paintings yesterday in my excitement. I want to just soak up all the beauty and spill it out as art.

I discovered a delightful shop this week and made my first Etsy purchase! I was sopping for twine (I desperately need it for packaging ) and decided to buy it form one shop that stole my day(I had to look at everything and her blog and flicker, got a little obsessed)

It is light and beautiful, full of sweet little idea to inspire others to make things. I completely stopped caring what store had the better price (to be honest, I think this one did have the best price, I rely don’t remember) and jumped for the purchase button!

What I love the most is how her shop gives the feel that she truly has fun making the items in her shop. I enjoy making the things for my shop, but would love to just play around with paper and fabric and not care if anyone would like it. I feel like I try too hard and maybe that’s why I’m not selling much.

I had a blog, but have lost it in my inability to keep it updated, and my very forgetful memory for logging in.

BUT I have decided its ok to have one lost out their, maybe someday i will rediscover it and get to reread lost memories!

My man and little man are going to "the real gun show" today with my father in law. Im glad Ash is old enough to do this kind of favorite thing with Ben. I use to go with my beloved husband buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut, its defiantly not my favorite outing. Ash love to do his own gun show, "BAM! BAM! FIREPOWER!" he says wile doing that muscle show off form Night at The Museum. Its rely one of our favorite tricks to show off to strangers and family with him. But when Ben told Ash they wear going to the real gun show, my wise little 3 year old didn’t do as I thought and pull out his 'guns' but asked if Ben was getting a real gun and when they would go! He always surprises us!

I’m left hear with my craft room hanging over my head. It has gotten completely out of control mess wise and I’m almost to the point of not able to sew, meaning new products cant be made, meaning I don’t have more treasures for my shop! DUNDUNDUNNNNNN! If I want money I need to clean but I would much rather veer off sewing and start selling paintings, only because my painting things are currently sitting next to my beautiful piano. I could set up on our kitchen table and forget the mess. Buuuuuuut then the kitchen would be a wreck.

I need to jut get to it.

If I don’t post another blog again you will know the black hole of stuff has finally clamed me as a victim.

In my town in East Texas, it never snows. sometime it will sleet or maybe have an in. or 2 BUT Valentines weekend we got 4 in.! It was a blast! and very inspiring for idea to paint. Hopefully I will have pics to show soon.

I have been inspired to paint as much as possible this week after my 2 sales! I sell a lot of sewn treasures on my sight, but truly I love to paint and draw the most. Selling those 2 paintings rely gave me a kick to jump into what I truly enjoy.

I noticed I don’t have a style! I mean they all have a similar look because the drawn parts are the same hand, buuuuut I’ve got way too many ways I paint. (I get bored fast) I will do a series of like 2 or 3 ways to paint and then switch. My favorite is to draw on the painting first or last with a permanent marker then paint around it (or start with a solid color background) I love to draw and that way I get to do both!

Trying to draw cats without a picture is harder than trying to draw my 3 year old! At least Asher will hold still if I tell him to!!! I had to get out my camera and take pictures but even that was almost impossible to get them to do what I wanted! they would try and play instead.

It took me way too long to sign on, so let me just say 'AAAAAAAAAAAA'
I’m better now;)

SO! I sold 2 paintings in the past 2 days! A personal first, and hopefully not a one time thing.

Inspired I got out my paints and canvases and unfinished paintings and set up Ash and me a painting center in our kitchen! It was a fun morning, even if paint tended to shoot across the table ever so often from Asher’s side of the table.

I painted the 2 paintings shown a couple years ago to decorate our master bedroom, but after many comments (I tend to put pictures up before they are finished, what can i say I like to see them up!) about the resemblance of the orchid flower painting and feminine parts, i decided to sell them on my etsy shop. Yeah for somebody;) I do think they are beautiful, but don’t like the conversation starter they cause.(I embarrass easily)
any thoughts?
